What is marketing project management software?
Marketing project management software is the system a team uses to plan campaigns, schedule content, route work through review, and see what is late. It is not a design tool and it is not a marketing automation platform. It is the layer that answers who is doing what, by when, and what a piece of work is waiting on. Orangescrum does that job with unlimited users on every plan, in our Cloud or installed on your own servers.
What to check before you buy
The features marketing work actually uses
Campaign boards
A Kanban board per campaign, with drag and drop between stages and subtasks under each deliverable.
Calendar and timeline
Publish dates on a calendar, and campaign phases on a Gantt timeline with dependencies between them.
Review workflows
Custom statuses per project. Self-Hosted adds a visual workflow designer with transition rules and permissions.
Time and cost
Log time against campaign work, set budgets, and see cost build as the campaign runs rather than after it.
Reports that answer questions
Progress, workload, and time by campaign, channel, or owner, ready when someone asks for a status.
Cloud or your own servers
Run it in our Cloud, install the Self-Hosted edition, or take the free open source Community Edition.

Marketing project management software FAQ
How much does it cost?
Pricing is a flat monthly plan with unlimited users on every tier: Basic at 29 dollars, Pro at 69 dollars, and Premium at 349 dollars per month. Nothing is charged per seat. There is also a free forever Cloud plan for one project and one user, and a free open source Community Edition under AGPL with no user limit.
How is this different from a design or proofing tool?
Orangescrum has no digital asset management and no creative proofing or annotation on images and video. It is the plan and workflow layer: who owns each deliverable, what stage it is at, and what is late. Most teams keep a proofing tool for the artwork itself and use Orangescrum for everything around it.
Can it handle several campaigns at once?
Yes. Each campaign is its own project with its own board, calendar, and permissions, and programme management groups related campaigns so you can see progress across a quarter rather than one campaign at a time. Programme management is Premium in Cloud and included in Self-Hosted.
What should we compare when looking at options?
Four things decide most of it. Whether the pricing model lets you include agencies and stakeholders, whether the calendar is generated from real work or maintained separately, whether statuses can be changed to your review stages, and whether the vendor can host on your infrastructure if a client demands it. Feature lists are long everywhere. Those four are where tools actually differ.
Does it replace a marketing automation platform?
No. There is no email campaign sending, no social media scheduling, and no lead nurture or scoring. There is also no CRM and no sales pipeline. Orangescrum manages the work of producing and launching campaigns, not the execution of the channels themselves.
Can we self-host it?
Yes. The Self-Hosted edition installs on your own servers or private cloud and includes everything that is Pro or Premium in Cloud, plus SSO, LDAP, document approvals, and the visual workflow designer. There is also a free and open source Community Edition, though it does not include reporting, custom fields, or Gantt.
What does it integrate with?
There is a REST Partner API for building your own connections, email notifications, and a Microsoft Teams integration in the Self-Hosted edition. The prebuilt integration list is deliberately shorter than a large suite, so if you depend on a specific marketing stack connector, check with us before you commit.
How long does setup take?
For one campaign, under an hour: create the project, rename the statuses to your review stages, add the deliverables as tasks with owners and dates, and invite the team. The parts that take longer are agreeing what your review stages actually are and deciding who approves what, which is a process question rather than a software one.
