Microsoft Teams Integration for Project Updates
Keep project activity where your team already talks. Send updates to the right channel, act on a task without leaving the chat, and open Orangescrum inside Teams.
Available in the Self-Hosted edition - runs on your own servers
This capability is available in the Self-Hosted (on-premise) edition. It is not part of the Cloud edition today.
What does the Microsoft Teams integration do?
The Microsoft Teams integration connects your Orangescrum projects to your Teams channels. Project activity is posted where your team already works, and actionable cards let people respond to a task straight from the message. You can also pin Orangescrum as a Teams tab, which recognises your Microsoft identity so you are not asked to sign in again.
Why updates get missed
Orangescrum, inside Teams
Channel notifications
Post project and task activity into the Teams channel that owns that work.
Actionable cards
Respond to a task straight from the message, without opening another tab.
Teams tabs
Pin Orangescrum as a tab inside a Teams channel, so the board sits next to the conversation.
Teams bot
A bot handles the connection between Teams and your Orangescrum workspace.
Recognised inside Teams
Your Microsoft identity is matched to your Orangescrum account, so working from the Teams tab does not mean signing in again.
Choose what gets posted
Control which events go to which channel, so the channel stays useful instead of noisy.
Keeps discussion together
Updates land where the discussion already happens, so decisions and context stay in one thread.
Works per project
Map projects to channels, so each team only sees the work that belongs to them.

Microsoft Teams integration FAQ
Does Orangescrum integrate with Microsoft Teams?
Yes. You can post project and task activity into Teams channels, act on tasks from actionable cards inside a message, pin Orangescrum as a Teams tab, and sign in with your Microsoft account.
Which edition includes the Teams integration?
The Microsoft Teams integration is available in the Orangescrum Self-Hosted edition. It is not part of the Cloud edition today.
Can I control which updates get posted?
Yes. You choose which events are posted and which channel they go to, so a channel does not fill up with activity the team does not need.
Can people update a task from Teams?
Yes. Actionable cards let people respond to a task from inside the Teams message, so they do not have to switch tools to make a small update.
Can I open Orangescrum inside Teams?
Yes. Orangescrum can be pinned as a tab in a Teams channel, so the board sits next to the conversation about it.
Do we need separate logins?
Inside Teams, no. Your Microsoft identity is matched to your Orangescrum account by email, so the Teams tab does not ask you to sign in again. The person must already have an Orangescrum account, because this links an existing identity rather than creating one. To sign into Orangescrum itself through your identity provider, use SAML single sign-on.
Does each project post to its own channel?
Yes. You map projects to channels, so each team sees only the work that belongs to them.
Does this work with Slack too?
Slack is handled by a separate integration in the self-hosted edition, with its own notifications, slash commands, and bot.
