Government project management FAQ
Can Orangescrum run inside our own network?
Yes. The Self-Hosted edition installs on your own servers, a private cloud tenancy, or a fully air gapped network. It does not phone home, so project data stays inside the boundary your policy defines, and you control backups, retention, and access.
Is Orangescrum FedRAMP authorised or ISO certified?
No, and we will not suggest otherwise. Those are formal, independently assessed programmes and we hold no such authorisation. What is true is that the Self-Hosted edition puts the software inside infrastructure your own accreditation already covers, access is role based and reviewable, and every work item keeps a permanent activity history. Tell us what your assessment requires and we will answer each point directly, including where the answer is no.
Where can we see your data processing terms and service levels?
Both are published as part of this section. The data processing addendum sets out how data is handled for the cloud edition, and the service level agreement sets out availability and support commitments. Links to both are at the bottom of this page, and your legal team can review them before any procurement conversation starts.
Does it handle procurement, tendering, or e-signature?
No. Orangescrum manages the delivery of the work, not the buying of it. There is no e-tendering portal, no contract repository with signature workflow, and no records management system. Those stay in your specialist tools, and the project work that follows a contract award is what we track.
Can suppliers and contractors be given access?
Yes. Every plan includes unlimited users, and permissions are role based per project, so a supplier sees only its own workstream. There is no license cost argument for keeping delivery partners outside the system.
How is it priced for a department?
Flat monthly plans with unlimited users: Basic is 29 dollars a month, Pro is 69, and Premium is 349. There is no per seat count to forecast, which makes the budget line stable even when a programme scales up or brings in a partner.
Can we enforce our own approval steps?
Yes, in the Self-Hosted edition. The visual workflow designer lets you define statuses, the transitions allowed between them, and who is permitted to make each move, so an approval gate is enforced by the tool rather than by convention.
What happens to the record when staff move on?
It stays with the work. Activity history, comments, decisions, and attached documents remain on the task or project regardless of who has left, and a wiki can hold the background context that would otherwise live only in one person's head.
