## Small client business _FAQ_

### We are a team of six. Is this too much software?

It does not have to be. Start with one project per client, tasks with owners and dates, and time logging. Ignore Gantt charts, sprints, and programmes until you actually want them. The measure of whether it is working is simple: can somebody other than the owner answer what a client is waiting for.

### Does it handle bookings and appointments?

No. There is no booking engine, no client appointment scheduling, no point of sale, and no CRM or sales pipeline. If you take bookings, keep the system you use for that. Orangescrum handles the work behind the bookings and the billing for it, which is usually the part sitting in a notebook.

### Can we invoice clients from it?

Time logging is on every plan. Invoicing, which turns logged time into a client invoice, is Premium in Cloud and included in the Self-Hosted edition. It is worth being clear that this is client invoicing and project cost, not accounting: there is no general ledger, so it feeds your accountant rather than replacing them.

### What does it cost for a small team?

Plans are flat monthly with unlimited users: Basic at 29 dollars, Pro at 69 dollars, and Premium at 349 dollars per month. Nothing is charged per person, so team size does not change the bill. There is also a free forever Cloud plan for one project and one user, and a free 14 day trial with no credit card.

### Can a client see their own project?

Yes, on Cloud and Self-Hosted. Client access gives them a scoped view of their own engagement without seeing your other clients or your internal notes. Client access is not included in the free Community Edition.

### Can we add part time and freelance staff?

Yes, at no extra cost, because users are unlimited on every plan. Role based permissions mean a weekend or contract member of staff sees only the clients they work on, which is usually what you want anyway.

### Do we need someone to run it?

No. A small team can work entirely from a board and a calendar with checklists on the repeatable jobs. The features that need real setup, such as Gantt dependencies, resource management, and budgets, are optional and most small teams never turn them on.

### Can we keep client notes and records in it?

You can keep working notes as comments and attach files to the work, and there is a wiki for how your processes run. What you should not do is keep clinical or patient records in it: Orangescrum is a project tool, not a health records system, so those belong in your practice software.
