A Gantt chart is a timeline view of a project where every task is a bar showing when it starts and finishes, and lines between bars show which tasks depend on others. Orangescrum gives you an interactive Gantt chart you can drag to reschedule, with dependencies, milestones, and critical path, so you can see the effect of a change before you commit to it. What you get ## A timeline that _stays accurate_ Every control on the Gantt page, grouped by what you are doing: viewing the timeline, linking work, editing the plan, filtering it down, and getting it out. 01Timeline - ### Interactive chart Every task is a bar on one timeline, arranged by project and milestone the way the project is already structured. - ### Zoom levels Move between hour, day, week, month and year with quarter scales to see fine detail or the whole span. - ### Zoom to fit Fit the full project span to the width of the screen in one click. - ### Working days Weekends are shaded using the working week set for your company, and a marker shows where today sits. - ### Milestones Mark the dates that matter so progress is measured against real checkpoints. - ### Rolled up dates A milestone or project bar spans the earliest start and the latest finish of the work inside it. 02Dependencies - ### Four link types Link tasks finish to start, start to start, finish to finish, or start to finish. - ### Draw links on the chart Create and remove links by dragging between bars, and they are saved with the rest of the plan. - ### Dates move together Move a predecessor and the tasks linked after it shift along the chain with it. - ### Critical path Orangescrum calculates the chain of linked tasks that sets your end date and highlights it on the chart. - ### Critical flag on task lists The same critical marker shows on tasks in the normal task list, not only on the Gantt page. 03Editing - ### Drag to reschedule Move or resize a bar to change the start and due date instead of typing into a form. - ### Indent and outdent Change a task's parent from the toolbar to restructure the plan without opening each task. - ### Multi select actions Select several bars and indent them, nudge them a day forward or back, or delete them together. - ### Undo and redo Step back through changes before you save, and get warned if you try to leave with unsaved work. - ### Full task editor Set title, description, parent, assignee, priority, milestone, task type, status and dates from the chart. - ### Create work from the chart Add new tasks and milestones on the timeline and they become real tasks in the project. - ### Delete with permission Remove tasks from the chart. In self-hosted, deletion honours the Delete Task and Delete All Task permissions. - ### Save the plan in one action Every date change, new link and deletion is posted together when you save the plan. - ### Status and automation Change a task's custom status on the chart and your workflow automation runs as it would anywhere else. 04Grid - ### Task columns Task name, start date, due date, duration in days, estimated hours, assignee and close date sit beside the timeline. - ### Hide the task list Collapse the grid so the timeline gets the full width of the screen. 05Filters - ### By assignee Narrow the chart to the people you care about, one or several at a time. - ### Show or hide completed Keep finished work out of the view until you want to see it. - ### By epic and sprint Self-hosted adds epic and sprint filters, so a large plan can be cut down to one slice of delivery. 06Export - ### PDF and image Export the chart as a PDF or a PNG for people who do not use Orangescrum. - ### Rendered on your server In self-hosted the export is queued and drawn on the server, with a progress indicator, and it survives a page reload. 07Access - ### View and edit are separate Viewing the chart and editing it are different permissions, so read only access to the plan is possible. - ### Unlimited users Everyone who needs to see the plan can, because there is no per seat cost.
