Attendance and Leave

# Attendance and Leave Management, _Next to the Work_

Track who is working, who is on leave, and who is available, in the same tool your projects run in. Approved leave updates your resource plans automatically.

## What is attendance and leave management?

Attendance and leave management is how a team records working hours, time off, and availability. Orangescrum keeps this in the same place as your projects, so when someone books leave, their availability changes in your resource planning and sprint capacity instead of sitting in a separate HR tool nobody in delivery can see.

The problem

## Why availability is _always wrong_

Leave lives in another system

HR knows who is off next week. The project manager finds out on the day.

✓ Approved leave updates availability in the same tool you plan work in.

Attendance is guesswork

There is no clear record of who worked when, so timesheets get argued over.

✓ Clock in and clock out gives an accurate, timestamped record.

Approvals get lost

Leave requests sit in an inbox with no clear owner or deadline.

✓ Multi level approval with reminders and escalation.

What you get

## Attendance, leave, and _availability in one place_

Track working time and time off without adding another separate system.

- ### Clock in and clock out

People record when they start and finish, giving you an accurate attendance record instead of estimates.

- ### Leave management

Staff request leave, managers approve it, and the calendar updates for everyone who needs to know.

- ### Multi level approval

Route leave requests through more than one approver where your policy needs it.

- ### Holiday calendar

Set company and regional holidays so they are excluded from working days and planning.

- ### Work location logging

Record where people are working from, with geo fencing available for on site teams.

- ### Team attendance grid

See the whole team's attendance and leave in one grid, so you know today's real capacity.

- ### Reminders and escalation

Automatic reminders chase missing clock ins and approvals that have been sitting too long.

- ### Feeds resource planning

Approved leave reduces that person's availability, so your capacity numbers stay honest.

How it works

## How it _works day to day_

1

Clock in

Team members record the start of their working day, with work location if you use it.

2

Request leave

Anyone books time off against the holiday calendar and leave rules you set.

3

Approve

Managers approve through one or more levels. Reminders chase anything left waiting.

4

Plan with real numbers

Approved leave flows into availability, so resource plans and sprint capacity reflect reality.

Frequently asked questions

## Attendance and Leave _FAQ_

### What is Orangescrum Attendance and Leave?

It is a module for tracking working time and time off inside Orangescrum. People clock in and out, request leave, and managers approve it. Approved leave then updates that person's availability for project planning.

### Which edition includes it?

Attendance and Leave is available in the Orangescrum Self-Hosted edition. It is not part of the Cloud edition today.

### Does leave affect project planning?

Yes, and this is the main reason to keep it in the same tool. When leave is approved, the person's availability drops, so resource planning and sprint capacity show the real number of working days you have.

### Can approvals go through more than one manager?

Yes. You can set up multi level approval so a request passes through each approver your policy requires before it is confirmed.

### Can we track where people work from?

Yes. You can log work location, and geo fencing is available for teams who need to confirm attendance at a specific site.

### Does it handle public holidays?

Yes. You set a holiday calendar, and those days are treated as non working days in planning and in leave calculations.

### What happens if someone forgets to clock in?

Automatic reminders chase missing clock ins, and approvals that have been waiting too long can be escalated.

### Is this a full HR system?

No. It covers attendance, leave, and availability for project delivery. It is designed to keep project capacity accurate, not to replace payroll or a complete HR suite.

## Know who is actually available

Attendance and Leave is included in the Orangescrum Self-Hosted edition, running entirely on your own infrastructure.
