It was a fix for a problem we had. See [what Orangescrum is today](/what-is-orangescrum) for the full picture. 1. 2010 ### It started with a stack of emails and two people We were a small group of two or three, working hard and making things happen, with no portfolio to show off. Rather than back down, we asked how we could make the work itself better. The answer was a lightweight tool we built for ourselves, an open source project manager called EasyAgile, to keep our tasks, our team, and our work in one place. 2. 2011 ### Growth brought the cracks As the client base grew, EasyAgile started to show its limits. Conversation was scattered across hundreds of threads. We were juggling more than a hundred clients. Emails got lost, timesheets got buried, and people slipped through the gaps. The choice was to subscribe to somebody else's tool or build the one we actually needed. 3. Today ### We built our own, and we kept building it We already had the expertise and the appetite, so we rebuilt it and gave it a new name. Orangescrum put resources, timesheets, project conversation, and real progress in one place.
